Originally, The Tower stood 110 feet tall and was a well-known San Diego landmark. After almost 70 years, the top of the tower began to lean. In 1998, the tower was taken down, and demolished. 

Due to the age of the building, a new tower would have to be self-supported. Hopefully it will be reconstructed in the near future.

A copy of the tip of the tower can be seen on University Avenue, just east of the 805 freeway
